The Sun Poked Out Today: Paint A Sign

Upping My Dose is Good, Sun Is Better

The sun snuck out today; it was held hostage for about the last week. Standing behind the clouds waiting for a chance to escape. It did just that.

I was inspired enough to take a moderate walk of three miles; enough to get me huffing a bit and satisfy the doc's prescription: 30-45 minutes of daily exercise.

I watched all of my favorite birds who seemed inspired, too, and listened to the music on my iPod. I sing, too, and hope, secretly, that someone hears me and wonders what the heck!?

There's part of a Paul Simon (yeah, that old guy) lyric that I really like that came up near the end of the walk:

gonna stand guard like the postcard of a golden retriever

It's from his "Surprise" CD released in 2006. The song, "Father and Daughter" is a heartwarming expression of a dad's love for his little girl. And, his steadfast adherence to the demonstration of his love because he's going to "paint a sign...so you'll always know."

What a great idea: paint a sign, so they'll always know. What could be more important?
